The “Nemmadi” Project was started in 2006 by e-Governance department on PPP mode through
802 Tele-Centres across the State, due to the various problems experienced including lack of control over
private partners, the Government decided to take over the Project completely and handover the same to the
Revenue department through this the Government envisaged that all the Revenue services would be accessible
to the common people by establishing the exclusive service centres at the hobli level through the transparent,
reliable and affordable means. These centers are meant for the electronic delivery of the citizen services in
rural areas and were named as “Atalji Janasnehi Kendras” as per the Government order dated 18.12.2012.
Accordingly, Atalji Janasnehi Project has been officially launched in 769 hobli centers across the state on
25.12.2012.
The Atalji Janasnehi Project functions through 769 Atalji Janasnehi Kendras(Nadakacheries) with additional
Front Offices as notified by the Government from time to time. The Deputy Commissioner of the districts will
be the overall in-charge of the project at the district level, accordingly, at the state level the Atalji Janasnehi
Directorate has been established in the Revenue Department on 25.12.2012, the Commissioner Survey
Settlement and Land Records are also designated as Director of the Project. The Directorate will monitor,
facilitate and offer technical guidance down the line for the effective project implementation across the state.
